Home Incentive Finder is an online one-stop resource for rebates, discounts, tax credits, and more for new and existing homes in Minnesota. The site is a source for both homeowners and building professionals across the state. It was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy and the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
Federal Tax Credits for Consumer Energy Efficiency
The federal government offers tax credits for existing home energy improvement of 30% of cost up to $1,500 through December 31, 2010. The follow items are included in the program: biomass stoves; heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC); insulation; roofs; water heaters (non-solar); and windows and doors. Additional tax incentives are available for purchase of some renewable energy systems for your home. For additional information and details visit the ENERGY STAR program website.
