The national Green Communities Criteria is modified as follows:

Install low-sone ENERGY STAR-labeled bathroom fans that exhaust to the outdoors and are equipped with a humidistat sensor or timer, or operate while light is turned on, or operate continuously.

Codes and Regulations

International Building Code 1203.1 General (as amended in 2007 Minnesota Building Code)
Buildings shall be provided with natural ventilation in accordance with Section 1203.4 or mechanical ventilation in accordance with Minnesota Rules, chapter 1346.

International Building Code 1203.4.2.1 (pertaining to naturally ventilated spaces)
Rooms containing bathtubs, showers, spas and similar bathing facilities shall be mechanically ventilated in accordance with the International Mechanical Code.
